Chuck Cheesman is a music educator, performer, and recording artist. His background includes degrees in Music (Illinois State University, 1992) and Elementary Education (Governors State University, 1996). He has taught children's music at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music and has over twenty years of experience teaching guitar, providing school and library programs, and performing for people of all ages. He also has five years of experience as a full-time elementary school classroom teacher.
Best known as a performer and educator for young children, Chuck keeps a busy performance schedule traveling to libraries, schools, and special events throughout Oregon. To find out more about his children's music, visit Dancing With No Shoes On!
As a singer/songwriter, Chuck has released four full length recordings of original music and two children's music albums. His recordings have been played on community, college, and public radio stations across the country. His album Imagining Dancers, was named Northern Arizona's Mountain Living Magazine's "Favorite Album" of 2011. Chuck's latest album is called A Whisper in this Town (April 2017).
Chuck currently makes his home in Lake Oswego, Oregon with his wife and two children. He works and teaches out of his home studio, el Escondite Secreto del Hombre de Queso. He also teaches guitar and children's music at Portland's Multnomah Arts Center and does educational outreach in partnership with Artichoke Music.
